We are looking for a Public Relations Manager to manage the global Public Relations activities. This role will closely partner with the Public Relations Director and VP of Marketing and Communications, for the Veronica Beard brand, including (but not limited to) editorial strategy and pitching, press & industry relations, celebrity dressing, external PR agency management, event support, sample trafficking, and creation of all press materials.  This role is based in our NYC office and reports directly to the Public Relations Director.

Responsibilities

  • Support PR Director on all press activities and brand initiatives including writing press releases, editor and stylist relationship-building, and proactive pitching efforts surrounding brand activations, collection launches, store openings, and product pushes
  • Foster relationships with regional and national press, stylists, VIPs and influencers to keep VB brand top of mind
  • Oversee all sample trafficking between PR, Sales, Ecomm and Creative teams and external partners
  • Support PR Director and Events team with press events including NYFW preparation, guest list building, VIP dressing, and asset distribution
  • Manage day to day relationship with external PR and VIP agencies in LA, London and Munich; manage seasonal asset distribution, organize bi-weekly calls and work closely with PR Director to formulate strategy for all agency teams
  • Work with PR Director and PR assistant to manage budget for press sample collection for each agency; liaise with Design and Production teams to coordinate seasonal sample distribution to our agencies
  • Oversee press monitoring and work with PR assistant to create the weekly Brand Marketing and Communications Highlights email to ensure major brand stories and features are shared with leadership in a timely manner
  • Research and stay alert to pitching and partnership opportunities and share among PR and Editorial/Social team members
  • Compile monthly and quarterly press reports for US and international agencies
  • Manage PR budget by submitting all invoices to AP, maintaining P&L tracker, and performing monthly budget reconciliation

    Sample Coordination:

    • Manage incoming and outgoing sample traffic to and from press, stylists, influencers, and our celebrity and international PR agencies using FashionGPS
    • Coordinate editorial and stylist store pulls with retail and store teams
    • Maintain organization of PR closet
    • Work with PR & Marketing Assistant to place sample and gifting requests in Exenta and input invoices in P&L tracker
    • Liaise with our partner Caleres for all shoe sample and gifting requests
    • Liaise regularly with sales, ecomm and creative teams to ensure samples are returned in timely manner

    Reporting:

    • Support PR team with monthly and quarterly press reports
    • Maintain trackers for upcoming press coverage and celebrity placements
    • Update press moves and contact changes in master press list

      Requirements

      • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in PR, Communications, Marketing, or related field
      • 4+ years of experience
      • Experience working with PR platforms including Fashion GPS, Launchmetrics and Cision
      • Experience working with social engagement tools & platforms
      • Prior experience within the fashion industry, either in-house or agency
      • Strong media connections
      • Experience managing budgets
      • A proactive self-starter with a can-do attitude
      • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
      • Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities
      • Collaborative leadership skills as evidenced by the ability to motivate and build consensus and partnerships
      • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
      • Dynamic, able to move quickly with program implementation and maintain focus amid change
      • Strong follow up skills
      • Strong attention to details and timeliness
