Here's a behind-the-scenes take at our new store at Palisades Village, California, complete with bamboo furniture, local photography and vintage surfboards to reflect the surrounding sunny locale. To help you recreate a similar look at home, we asked VB interior designer Carolina de Neufville for five quick tips. 

1. Have a Point of View
For this store, we were inspired by a 1970s boho California beach bungalow and thought about it every step of the way. 

2. Watch Your Scale
Because of the high vaulted ceilings, we added the large palm to create a canopy over the seating area. 

3. Create a Collection
With the help of our landscape artist Anton Prack, we assembled an amazing collection of vintage macramé plant hangers. 

4. Bamboo & Rattan
My favorite materials! I can never get enough vintage rattan furniture. We filled the store with it. 

5. Bring the Outdoors In
Plants, trees, flowers! A space is not complete without foliage.
