We're counting down our favorite summer films—and sharing what-to-wear inspo from our latest drop. Because—let's be honest—we still love to get dressed up and there's always room for more escapism right now…

Thelma & Louise

If you, like us, have been melting in this summer heat, then take a page from Thelma & Louise, which follows the eponymous duo on a scorcher of a road trip westward. Think muscle tees, bandanas, breezy blouses and tons of denim (and denim-on-denim)—all rebellious and badass. Our switch? Swapping out booties for slip-on clogs that will easily transition from summer to fall.

Out of Africa

If a romance by way of Karen Blixen is more your speed, then let Meryl Streep in Out of Africa be your muse, kicked up a contemporary notch in silk safari shirts, wide fluid pants and sharp jackets with cargo side pockets, all in a palette of khakis and olives. Our playful punctuation? A pair of suede mules—in a bold leopard print.

The Talented Mr. Ripley

The Talented Mr. Ripley had us from scene one, with Matt Damon musing over a blazer, but it's Gwyneth Paltrow's fresh-faced and sun-kissed style in the first half of the film that we're enamored with now. She's a Mediterranean jet-set dream, circa 1950, all cotton dresses, puff sleeves and A-line skirts. (As the thriller takes a darker turn, Paltrow's wardrobe slides into Hitchcock mode—leopard coats; pillbox hats—but we'll leave that for the next round-up.)

Because, one, we love this movie about a ragtag group of kids on a baseball team and their adventures one summer in 1962. And because, two, we're forever young at heart. And that pool scene—we still laugh thinking about it today.
