DESTINATION:

Northern California, from Stinson Beach to Santa Cruz

I love the surf style in Northern California – it’s bohemian, it’s old school and it’s hardcore. The atmosphere is mellow but it brings in serious surfers. The way they move in the water is so beautiful, I love spending the day watching them.

MY SURF ESSENTIALS:

Edie Parker Surf's Up Beach Towel, Basta Surf bikini swimsuit, Philip Kingsley Swimcap Cream (to protect my hair from the salt water!), and Supergoop Lip Balm SPF 30.

Destination:

Mukul, Nicaragua

The Mukul Resort is gorgeous and surfing is easy here. There is a long gentle white water wave that kids and beginners can learn and boogie board on all day long, a nice long beach break out the back that can be friendly or challenging depending on the tide, and a more advanced left point break even further out long the cliffs. Tropicsurf runs a guiding and instructing operation here that is top notch.

My Surf Essentials:

Kassia Surf Swimsuits, Vertra Tinted Sunscreen for face and hands, SunBum Spray Sunscreen for body, Sticky Bumps Surf Wax and a good baseball cap.
