The Jane has an incredibly rich history. Built in 1908 as a hotelfor sailors, it hosted the survivors of the Titanic in 1912 and wastaken over by the YMCA in the 1940s. In the 80s and 90s, it was at theepicenter of New York City’s bohemian meets rock-n-roll culture (checkit out here in this videofeaturing the one and only RuPaul) and now as The Jane Hotel, itcontinues to be a must-visit destination.
