Decor Tips

3 quick recs, straight from the new VB Madison

Hello, Miami! We've opened a new store in Bal Harbour, at 9700 Collins Avenue. Here's your first look at the boutique, which was inspired by palm trees and vintage rattan from the Seventies, and learn how to recreate the look at home with these quick tips from our interior designer, Carolina de Neufville.

1. Past Perfect
Florida has amazing vintage furniture shops between West Palm Beach and Miami so we wanted to source as much local vintage as possible. We went to Miami Vintage Décor and Circa Who—basically any stores along South Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach!

2. Not Your Ordinary Neutral
We used a beautiful palm print that comes in white and sand colors—from Meg Braff Designs' Beverly Hills Collection—to create a neutral backdrop, with some visual intrigue. It's our wallpaper, plus we cut matching fabric for the draperies.

3. La Vida Local
We paid homage to Miami by incorporating touches that reflect the local environs—like a limestone coffee table and fan-back rattan McGuire chairs. We purchased the latter from Miami Vintage Décor and had them reupholstered with a nearby vendor. In fact, the very first piece we purchased was a painting by Lauren Jane, Beach Babe, because we were inspired by the palm leaves! You can see it below, under the neon "I Want It All" sign.
