Women’s Earth Alliance

Around the world, women are driving powerful efforts to protect our planet—yet too often, they lack the resources needed to scale their impact. That’s where Women’s Earth Alliance, our new VB Gives Back partner, comes in.

Through its network of partners and communities, the organization empowers and equips women environmental leaders around the world—helping them expand their work, strengthen their communities, and protect our planet. Access to this kind of support is crucial to building a more sustainable future.

Their guiding belief is simple: When women thrive, the Earth thrives.

Who Is Women’s Earth Alliance?

Founded in 2006 by Melinda Kramer and Amira Diamond, Women’s Earth Alliance is a global nonprofit investing in women on the frontlines of the climate crisis—those protecting ecosystems, restoring biodiversity, and building climate resilience within their communities.

At the heart of WEA's approach is a powerful multiplier effect: when one woman is equipped with the tools and resources to lead change, she empowers others to do the same. One becomes ten, ten becomes one hundred—and the ripple effect continues to expand across communities.

Focusing on the intersection of environmental and social justice, WEA helps these women expand their reach through leadership training, funding, mentorship, and global networks of support. From regenerative agriculture and clean energy to health and wellbeing initiatives, its work advances locally led solutions that protect both people and the planet.

Why This Work Matters

According to WEA, women are often among those most affected by climate change, environmental degradation, and resource scarcity—yet they’re also deeply connected to their communities and natural resources, making them uniquely positioned to lead these critical efforts.

“These women often face marginalization, persecution, and deep inequity—many don’t own the land they work to protect or have a say in the policies that impact their lives,” explains Kramer. “WEA provides a power base for these women, supporting and uniting them so they’re never alone in their efforts to protect our environment.”

Since its inception, WEA has trained and funded over 59,000 women leading environmental initiatives across 31 countries, reaching over 24 million people worldwide with solutions that restore ecosystems, improve health and wellbeing, and more. As their network grows, so does their impact—strengthening communities and protecting the planet for generations to come.

“What we’ve seen over nearly two decades of our work is that networks of women leaders are the lifeblood of this time,” says Diamond. “In times of compounding crises like the present, these networks kick into gear with brilliance and foresight—not just saving each other, but all of us.”

What We’re Spotlighting

Over this next quarter, we’re proud to highlight the women spearheading this work—from environmental justice advocates empowering young girls in Los Angeles to female farmers advancing sustainable agriculture practices across the globe. Their stories are a testament to the power of community-led change—and the impact of investing in women.

Now through the end of June, a portion of every online order will be donated to Women’s Earth Alliance, helping further its mission through training, funding, and amplifying grassroots efforts.
