There are two of us—two perspectives, one vision, as we often like to say. It's in those different points of view that the magic happens. For Fall 2019, we decided to play up the contrast even further and created a collection that answered one single question: What happens when you take the grande dame of Park Avenue and drop her in the middle of the woods?

In other words, if you're going to wear a puffer, make it leopard—and make it fabulous. Go ahead, drench the plaid jacket in glittering rhinestones. And ladylike tweed? Why not reimagine it as a cool jumpsuit?

Which is why, in mining this opulence-meets-outdoors motif, we dedicated this VB Edit issue to adventure, from our survival guide to our fashion shoots. But there's more to the theme than the rugged life. It's about being bold, intrepid, enterprising, tenacious. It's about taking risks and following your instincts. There's adventure in the everyday. What we're celebrating is how you face it.
