The rise measures the distance from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband, determining where the jean sits on your torso.

What jean length works best for me? 

The ideal jean length depends on both your height and how you want the style to fall on your leg. Inseam length is measured from the crotch seam to the hem.

VB inseam sizing is based on a 5'8" - 5'10" height, or a 30" - 32" inseam.

"I love the Silverwood Blue patch-pocket front style — stretchy but not outrageously stretchy like the similar patch-pocket style with pintuck seams down the front. These are stretch with structure, so even though I could have maybe sized down and still been just fine, they hold up well in my usual size with a bit of comfort and room. So so flattering and a great wash for a more casual look, and summer / transitional seasons.
