I Want It All: Caroline Harper's Gift Guide

Caroline Harper, the cool mom of two behind the style and interiors blog House of Harper, is a holiday pro. From decorating to finding the perfect gift to what to wear, she’s got it all down, so we asked her to share her wish list, tips and must-haves for the season!

Favorite Holiday Tradition:

For as long as I can remember, we have always been allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve. Every year my parents give us the present to open and every year (surprise!) it is a pair of matching Christmas pajamas to sleep in. My siblings and I are all married with children now, but the tradition still continues… husbands and all!

Your Sons:

You are hearing it here first, the boys are getting a puppy for Christmas! You will have to wait to see what kind. 😉

Your BFF:

We do a secret Santa gift exchange with my girlfriends every year. It’s always one of the highlights of the season for me!

Your Husband:

My husband is always the hardest to shop for! Every year he says he doesn’t want anything so I have to rack my brain to think of something. Hopefully I have the perfect gift this year…

#1 Holiday Décor Tip:

I love decorating for the holidays, it makes me so happy to wake up to the smell of a Christmas tree! My tip is to decorate as early as possible so you can fully enjoy all your efforts. I personally like to decorate before we leave town for Thanksgiving so when we return home everything is done and we can dive right in to the holiday spirit!

Party Season Uniform:

I have a gold metallic jacket that I love because I can dress it down with denim and a white blouse or dress it up over a LBD.

Go-To Hostess Gift:

I love finding fun hostess gifts with a personal touch during the holidays! I currently love these southern cocktail napkins from Draper James.

How Do You Relax Post Holiday?

 After Christmas, we head to my parent’s ranch in the Texas Hill Country to unwind.It’s the perfect post-holiday detox. I never put on make-up and we stay cozied up in our flannels.

How to measure the body:

  1. Shoulders: measured from shoulder blade to shoulder blade
  2. Bust: circumference measured at the fullest part of the chest
  3. Waist: circumference measured at the smallest part of the waist
  4. Hip: circumference measured at the fullest part of the hips (or 8” down from the waist)
  5. Sleeve length: measured from the center of the back of the neck to the wrist
  6. Inseam: measured from the top of inside the leg to the ankle
