VB Agenda

Miami Art Week

DEBUG: core/paragraph

All eyes are on Miami right now as the city roars back to life with Miami Art Week after a hiatus last year. Below, five essential things to do, see, visit while you're in town–and our tips on what to wear for each. Remember (and rejoice!): It's still warm and sunny there.

1. Art Fairs

DEBUG: core/paragraph

Art Basel, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, may be the main event, but there are plenty of satellite art fairs to enjoy, too. Our favorites include NADA at Ice Palace Studios, and Untitled Art, located right on Miami Beach. Interior hounds should make a beeline for Design Miami/ for the latest in furniture and decor while the digital set will be excited about the first NFT art fair, Cube, which is scattered as public art on 50 billboards across the city.

2. Miami Mural Festival

This week sees the first-ever Miami Mural Festival. Check out works by street artists such as Ron English, AVAF, Adrian Avila and Case Maclaim over at Wynwood neighborhood. Schedule your trip here around lunch—there are some incredible restaurants in the area, from KYU (Asian BBQ) to The Taco Stand, the latter of which features a hidden omakase restaurant in the back.

3. F is for Faena

DEBUG: core/paragraph

Faena Hotel is an art lover's dream. That glass-encased gold mammoth skeleton, by Damien Hirst, you see everywhere on Instagram? Yep, that's located in the hotel's garden. But this year, center stage goes to artist Pilar Zeta, who created a series of site-specific installations throughout the Faena property, including the massive "Hall of Visions" conveniently located right on the beach. Soak up the sun—and great art—at the same time.

4. Es Devlin's Maze

DEBUG: core/paragraph

Chanel teamed up with artist and set designer Es Devlin for a pop-up forest in the middle of Miami Design District’s Jungle Plaza—complete with a circular maze and over 1,000 plants and trees planted for the occasion. Celebrating Chanel No. 5's 100th anniversary, it's a multi-sensory experience with animated light, colors, sounds and, of course, smells.
