Go from Camping to Glamping

DEBUG: core/paragraph

The easiest way to experience a true glamping experience is to book one of the top-tier glamping destinations around the world (see our list of recs here). But if you prefer a DIY luxury camping experience, we've got you covered too. Here, our tips to take in the Great Outdoors with all the comforts of home—or a five-star hotel.

1. Size Matters
Forget the skimpy, frail tents of yore. The first step to splendor in the woods is to opt for a deluxe dwelling. Try a spacious, high-ceiling yurt or, for the star gazers, an inflatable bubble tent, some of which come with an attached bathroom.

2. Rest Easy
A comfy bed is key to glamping—bring a queen or king-size mattress, even if the inflatable kind, but make sure it's elevated from the ground. But don't stop there. Pack bedding, sheets, pillows and throw in some fluffy slippers, too, to complete the experience. Get extra creative and set up a temporary night stand with a small table or box-like container.

3. See the Big Picture
Enjoy movie night under the stars. All you need is a projector, a portable charging station, your smartphone and a white sheet or an inflatable movie screen.

4. Go Gourmet
Goodbye, canned foods and hot dogs over a fire. Hello, fine dining. Bring a cooler and a multi-burner stove—not to mention spirits and bubbly—and go wild with the gourmet eats. For recipe ideas, check out Bon Appétit's list of "40 Campfire Meals" here. We're talking roasted butternut squash, wine-marinated hanger steaks, crushed potatoes with oyster bar butter, cornbread tamale pie…

5. Think Street Camping-Chic
Sure, you could schlep, but if you're going to elevate the camping experience, why not wear the clothes to match? Our Fall 2019 collection puts the glam in glamping.
