VSB Loves: From Napa With Love

October 4, 2017

I am thrilled to introduce my sister Alexis Swanson Traina's new book, From Napa With Love: Who to Know, Where to Go and What Not To Miss. It's the ultimate insider's guide to everything and everyone chic in Napa Valley — a place I call home and that is so dear to my family! I am also so touched to be included as part of the amazing cast sharing their Napa must-dos. Whether you're planning a trip or living in the area, this book belongs on your coffee table. Check out a quick Q&A about the book with Alexis below and buy the book here!

Describe Napa in three words:

Romantic. Gorgeous. Poetic

What do you love most about the area?

It is the most special place to make indelible memories with family, friends and loved ones.

Your Five Favorite Places in Napa:

Eat: Acacia House, on the veranda.
Drink: The Auberge Patio Bar at dusk.
Shop: Hunter Gatherer
Cruise: Love to drive the back roads of Yountville — specifically Yount Mill Road.
Must-Have: The cult-ish Vintner's Daughter Botanical Serum, made in Napa Valley.

Your favorite part about putting together this book?

Made me double down on my great love for this exquisite part of the United States.

What archetype did you give your sister and why?

Veronica was the obvious TASTEMAKER— and always has been. She is non-stop relentless in her quest to learn, experience, surveil and research. Her shameless passion is the hunt: be it clothes, antiques, thrift shops, consignments shops, or car dealerships. It takes WERK to keep up with her!

The must-do for someone visiting Napa for the first time?

Ballooning during harvest is so special, memorable and sensorial with vistas as far as the eye can see, and the intense fragrance of wine-making.

Three Wines to Try:

Lewis Cellars, Mac Donald Wines and Venge Wines.

Best Way to Get Around?

UBER!!!!!

Your entertaining essentials:

#1.The best bartender in town.
#2.Comfort food.
#3.A good cake.

How would you define Napa style?

Purely California: Army jackets, caftans, straw hats, sunglasses and a good manicure and pedicure. I also always like to throw in some black lace for good measure.

Your VB Napa Packing List:

Kate Skinny Jeans, Grey Mule, Anouk Blouse, Camp Jacket and the Short-Brim Fedora.
