The Pinstriped Suit
A suiting icon that feels both timeless and unmistakably of-the-moment? One word: pinstripes.

The pinstripe suit is a classic. The caveat? It can skew costume-y if not carefully selected. Enter Ellette & Tonelli—pinstriped perfection.

We infused a modern ease into the Eighties style staple with soft tailoring and elongated proportions. Plus, a fuzzy, non-graphic stripe further elevates the look. And it’s endlessly mix-and-matchable, folding easily into your existing wardrobe. Don’t believe us?

Here, we deconstruct this tailored two-piece and our favorite ways to wear it, suited and desuited.

WEEKEND WARRIOR

For off-duty errand-running, we love zipping in a Hoodie dickey into the Ellette, leaning into the borrow-from-the-boys feel of the jacket. Go further into tomboy territory with a pair of menswear-inspired loafers and straight-leg denim.

KEEP IN LINE

We love one-and-done outfitting. Or, one-and-done-ish outfitting. When worn together, the Ellette Jacket and Tonelli pant do most of the work for you. Play off the suit’s linear pattern by layering them over a striped button-down. Finish the look with black Lisa booties that seamlessly meld into the pant leg—et voila, leg-lengthening magic!

COZY COOL

Give the always-cool pinstriped pant a bit of textural dimension, with the Italian-spun Clary sweater. Then ground the look with sneakers, telegraphing a casual, au courant vibe.

DRESS PREP

Our favorite way to bring a dress into daywear? Pop on a blazer. We love this particular pairing, though, as it’s print-mix perfection. Patterned with equestrian-motifed stirrups, this silky midi  feels right at home layered under the blazer’s preppy stripes. And, in perfect-match navy and gold, it’s a foolproof styling.
