Decor Tips

VB Georgetown

DEBUG: core/paragraph

Hello, Georgetown! We’re so excited to be here in our nation’s capital, from the tree-lined cobblestone streets to the charming homes and historic neighborhood. Take a quick tour of our newest store on 1254 Wisconsin Avenue NW and and read on for decor highlights from our interior designer Carolina de Neufville.

How did you come up with the concept for this store?
The store concept was built around the sofa in the focal seating area. It is a vintage sofa in Schumacher & Co. velvet fabric. It’s an Ikat pattern in deep rusts, oranges and warm brown tones.

What’s the overall palette ?
Given the sophisticated market of Washington, DC, the palette of the store is meant to be a neutral background for the clothing to speak for itself. The curtains and ottomans ground the space, and are draped in classic Veronica Beard leopard by Pierre Frey. The chairs in the seating area are custom made, inspired by Billy Baldwin, in Pindler Lawford fabric in Java.

What separates this outpost from the rest?
We maintained a brick wall that spans the entire right side of the store, keeping the integrity of the original space.

Any other special pieces to note?
One of the featured tables is a 1980s vintage Merle Edelman Papyrus Flower. It is hand carved from heavy fruit wood and lacquered in a rich ecru color.

And last, but not least, tell us about the artwork…
With minimal artwork in the store, the main feature is three of Jason Trotter’s bold, color-saturated, geometric abstract paintings. He is a VB favorite!
