The Veronicas were recently featured on La Ligne, the fashion label founded by Valerie Macaulay, Meredith Melling and Molly Howard that's dedicated to all things stripes. Check out the story, The Dream Team, here and keeping reading to go behind the scenes of Veronica Swanson Beard's day at the shoot and learn the inspiration behind her groovy look. "I'm a huge fan of the film, Almost Famous, by director Cameron Crowe—it's a classic in my house. The soundtrack is one of my favorites. Who doesn’t love to sing "Tiny Dancer" at the top of their lungs in the car?! Plus, Kate Hudson's character, Penny Lane, is my bohemian spirit animal! I love her strength and vulnerability and her curls, of course. I’m a sucker for anything boho and loved the styling of her character.

"So, naturally, I couldn't resist channeling my inner Penny Lane for this photoshoot with La Ligne—complete with my own fluffy sheepskin coat. It's vintage and belongs to Meredith Melling. It was hard for me not to leave the shoot with it!!

"To mark the occasion, here are 3 fun facts about the fashions in the film. When the musical hits Broadway—and if the rumors are true, it will soon—consider this a cheat sheet to your next cocktail-party banter." — Veronica Swanson Beard

Almost Famous—3 Things To Know

1. If you think Almost Famous is vintage heaven, think again. All the clothes were custom-made by costume designer Betsy Heimann—except for the jeans, which were sourced from bushels and bushels of thrifted finds from across the U.S.

2. Hudson's beautiful coat, the one that inspired me here, was made from actual upholstery fabric while the shaggy fur collar was formerly… a rug from Urban Outfitters. But it's the backstory that I really love. "I just felt like she was so vulnerable on the inside and so strong on the outside, that this coat was her armor," explained Heimann. "She could wrap herself up in it and no matter how low or insecure she was feeling, she put on that coat and she became Penny Lane. It was her protection."

3. There's a real-life roadie who provided the inspiration behind Penny Lane: Bebe Buell, a former Ford model and Playboy Playmate (and Liv Tyler's mom!). Crowe, the film's director, was a close friend of hers during the freewheeling Seventies. But Hudson wasn't the only character who pays homage to Buell. The lead singer, played by Jason Lee, is named Jeff Bebe.
