Behind the Scenes

VB London

DEBUG: core/paragraph

Our very first (!) international store is now open, occupying a 18th-century townhouse in London’s iconic Mayfair neighborhood. Here, resident VB interior designer Carolina de Neufville gives us the inside scoop on 27 Bruton Street—from vintage furniture finds to our tried-and-true leopard upholstery.

Step into its grand entryway and you’ll find original moldings and black-and-white tiled floor. A vintage Moroccan pendant gives the space an eclectic finish.

The First Floor

You’re welcomed to the first floor by a Seventies-era octagonal Italian rattan table and a Belgian credenza lacquered in red, with an oversized “V” at its center. All the curtains, sofa, and ottomans are in our signature leopard from Pierre Frey, while the artwork includes an abstract painting by Anna Mayerson, sourced at a gallery in London, and another by Gunnar Aagaard Andersen, from the Sixties.

The Second Floor

The second floor is decked out in Penny Morrison’s luxe wallcoverings and upholstery. A haberdashery hutch—a Louis Phillipe-period piece—was sourced from a castle in France and dates back to the 1840s. And, of course, we had to acquire a piece from Battersea’s famed Decorative Fair—an antique rattan table with a stained-glass top.
