STAY: VENICE
In Venice we stayed at Hotel Bonvecchiati, next to St. Mark’s square which is the perfect location for exploring the romantic canals and side streets in the city.
SHOP: VENICE AND RAVELLO
Venice is all about the masks and beautiful Venetian glass! Pop into any of the shops off of the canals, every stop feels like a little museum the pieces are so gorgeous.
Ravello is the cutest town in the Amalfi coast. Visit the ceramic store called Ceramiche Cosmolena di Margherita di Palma. I brought a piece of Amalfi back with me to NYC!
SEE: Assisi
The gorgeous pink stone buildings and archways of Assisi date back to 1200 and are definitely worth a visit.
SEE: POMPEII
Pompeii is unforgettable. After Mt. Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, the community was destroyed but remnants of the people, art, and homes still stand, frozen in time. It’s fascinating to see how advanced the ancient civilizations were.
EAT: POSITANO and AMALFI
This region is one of my favorite places on earth. You have to eat at La Tagliata in Positano. It’s family-run, with no menu and all freshly grown, raised and caught vegetables, meat and seafood. Get ready to dance and jig with the old tunes. That’s amore!
The little town of Amalfi is all about the luscious lemons, olive oil, burrata, and the Limoncello lemon liqueur! Make sure you stop and take advantage of all of the fresh produce and the wine – it is the culture!
EAT: PADUA, TUSCANY
We loved visiting Padua for the original Giotto paintings and the famous Café Pedrocchi–established in 1831! You have to try the mint latte or indulge in some Nutella for breakfast!
